Maurice Gianati made giant leaps over his own evidence, which he put in the footnotes. The footnotes showed that Alice Guy moved to the Belleville property in 1898 (not 1902), and that Leon Gaumont in 1897 filed under seal in the secretariat of the Conseil des Prud’hommes de Paris the titles and paper samples of the Series N films to protect them against falsification. Alice Guy provided details about these films. Gianati’s most facile argument was that Alice Guy was too old in the 1950s and 1960s to remember what she did in 1896.
